Who Said Malays cannot perform?

[updated] Penang Pakatan Rakyat government reveal that 66 projects awarded by Penang Water Supply Corporation since 2008, a total of 44 were won by Malay contractor. 67% of Penang Development Corporations given to Malay contractors. 88% of the state contracts in 2008 and 2009 were awarded to Malay contractors and 76% contracts were given to Malay contractors through call for open quotations.

On allegations that state government bias against Malay hawkers, the statistic shows state government took action on unlicensed hawkers without any biasness. The numbers was 2,809 chinese hawkers, 1,600 Malay hawkers and 443 Indians hawkers who run the unlicensed business was taken to task.

The first para figures shows Malay contractors can perform much better under the open tender system. By opening up the state procurement process the more capable Malay contractors gained. Then why there was street demonstration? Majority was umno contractors who all this while gained the state contract through the cronyism and political cable. Now under the open tender system they couldn’t perform and for the sake of rice bowl they went to street to sent message to state government they will die under the new system. They have no other choices rather than going to street to save their rice bowl. But no one bother them since very small crown only gather while others who believe on transparency and open tender system ignored them.

The second para shows irrespective of race or religion, state government through local municipality want to regulate the illegal business. State government just ask the illegal hawkers to legalise their business and what’s wrong with that request? For those who believe umno will come to help them when their unlicensed hawker centre demolished was cheated because umno has no power in state any more. The Chinese hawkers was most effected but umno through his racist paper Utusan Malaysia has potraited that state government victimising the Malay hawkers which is not true.

The one who demoted Malay contractors is umno him self. They used Malay supermacy not to bring up the malay contractors but to en-rich their family and cronies. Malays can perform much better than others with the implementation of open tender. Only umno putra couldn’t. Umno putra’s failure shall not be considered the Malay’s failure. Who said Malay’s cannot perform – only umno putra said it.

Sodomy II will bring down BN in GE13?

[updated] Today the battle of the politics between Najib vs Anwar started. Anwar will face the court on sodomy charges and if convicted might lead him to political downfall which was the main character glued DAP and PAS eventhough with different idologies. The politically ill minded personnels believed for political survival they must sent Anwar back to prison without considering all-round impact, sending him back to prison again. Either Anwar win or lose, the case will end up very badly for the Najib’s administration not only politically and economically but to the extent for other government system especially the judicial branch of government. The image of Malaysia at international platform will be tarnished tremendously and this round will be worst than Allah crisis. The international media has put Malaysia under their microscope, in no way will give a positive press coverage for the country especially when the world believed there are hidden hand behind the Sodomy II. BN failed to read the impact on Sodomy I during the 1999 GE which saw the malay voters has distanced their self from umno/bn. The non-malay voters who actually safed umno/bn then under TDM. With current political environment Sodomy II might bring BN to ground forever.
